- Identifying hazards and threats in Duncan
- Working to eliminate the hazard or lessen their effects
- Development of an Emergency Operations Plan that guides our overall citywide response to emergencies that occur
- Identification of assets and resources that can be used in the mitigation, response and recovery of major incidents
- Rapid response to the needs of our community, to quickly return our lives back to normal
Emergency Operations and Hazard Mitigation Plans
The City of Duncan maintains two emergency planning documents. The Hazard Mitigation Plan – which identifies various natural hazards that could impact Duncan and or Duncan Public Schools and potential projects to be completed to eliminate or reduce the potential effects of those hazards. The Emergency Operations Plan is a guide that spells out how the City of Duncan conducts an all-hazards emergency response, describing specific authorities and best practices for managing incidents that range from small scale local events to large-scale catastrophic natural disasters.
