Duncan Police Department welcomes a new officer this month to the department after successful graduation from the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training ( C.L.E.E.T.) academy in Ada, Oklahoma. Municipal Court Judge Enos swore in Officer J. Bowers on April 16, 2025, as Bowers recently completed the academy’s Basic course which consisted of 600 hours of training in many areas including criminal and traffic law, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, first aid, human relations, and ethics. “With Officer Bowers graduation from C.L.E.E.T completed” states Deputy Chief of Police David Woods, “we are excited to welcome him into the ranks of Duncan Police Department and appreciate his commitment to our mission of enhancing our community’s quality of life by providing excellent police services to our citizens and visitors while maintaining the highest ethical standards.”
